Getting started with PCG Builder
These guides walk you through the core workflows in PCG Builder. Follow each tutorial in order when setting up your first report, or jump to the section most relevant to your current task.
Set Reporting Period
Each PCG report is tied to a reporting period. The period controls which Procore data is pulled and how period-to-period comparisons are calculated.
- 1
Navigate to Report Settings
Open your report and click the Settings icon in the top-right toolbar. Select Reporting Period from the menu.
- 2
Set the period start and end dates
Use the date pickers to define the current reporting period. PCG Builder will automatically detect the prior period for comparison visualisations.
- 3
Save and refresh data
Click Save Period. PCG Builder will re-fetch all live Procore data scoped to your new period and update all visualisations automatically.
Select Visuals
PCG Builder includes over 100 pre-built visualisations covering cost performance, schedule progress, risk registers, and more. Visualisations can be added to any section of your report.
- 1
Open the Visualisation Library
From the report editor, click the + Add Visualisation button in the section toolbar. The visualisation library panel will appear on the right.
- 2
Browse or search
Use the category filters (Cost, Schedule, Risk, Quality) or the search bar to find the visualisation you need. Each tile shows a preview and the required Procore data fields.
- 3
Configure and insert
Click a visualisation tile to open its configuration panel. Set the date range, grouping, and display options, then click Insert to add it to your report section.
Version Control
PCG Builder maintains a full version history for every report. You can review, compare, and restore any prior version at any time.
- 1
Access version history
Click the History tab in the left report panel. All saved versions are listed in reverse chronological order with the save date and author.
- 2
Preview a prior version
Click any version entry to open a read-only preview. You can review all content and visualisations as they appeared when the version was saved.
- 3
Restore a version
To make a prior version the active report, click Restore this version. The current version will be saved automatically before the restore is applied.
Exporting to PDF
PCG Builder generates polished, publication-ready PDFs with consistent formatting and your organisation's branding.
- 1
Open Export settings
Click the Export button in the top toolbar. The export panel will open, showing layout and branding options.
- 2
Choose page size and orientation
Select A4 or Letter, and portrait or landscape. PCG Builder will reflow all visualisations to fit the selected format.
- 3
Export
Click Export to PDF. The PDF will be generated and downloaded to your device within a few seconds.
